  What is grass roots outreach?

Grass roots outreach is people from local churches in a community coming together to make their community better, one neighborhood at a time. This kind of outreach works well because people serving alongside of each other are connected to the community and neighborhoods. Keeping community outreach at a grass roots level allows churches that know the needs of the community to make more of a difference.

This kind of outreach also works well because people know each other in the community. Metro Community Outreach seeks to link churches, people and ministries together in relationship for grass roots outreach.

Could we do better together what we have been doing separately?

Welcome to Metro Community Outreach

Metro Community Outreach has been in existence since 1999.  We have been able to make an impact in the Washington, D.C. area by linking up to 65 churches together in relationship for outreach.  We’re excited about the future too!

Our passion at Metro Community Outreach is to connect people and churches to the local community.

Connecting to the local community happens best when people and churches genuinely care about the needs of a community.  Caring also means building relationships with people in the community.

#Community Connecting
#Community Connecting means that churches have a GO-TO focus not just a COME-TO emphasis. It works best as people actually serve in areas such as civic organizations, service organizations, schools, community groups or in local businesses.

Service projects that are designed to meet the needs of a community are a great way to involve churches in grass roots outreach.  Service projects can range from simple acts of kindness to projects where you build long term relationships with people in the community.
